"Levent with his elder brother Misirli Ahmet is the leader of a new generation of darbuka players in the world. This new generation is inspired both by the Egyptian or Turkish tradition and by the technique of great indian tabla masters, like Alla Rakha or Zakir Hussain. Therefore, they operate a synthesis of the two techniques which enrich the possibilities to infinity." |
